In brief

Early career researchers can gain additional knowledge and skills at a Max Planck institute on the basis of their prior professional qualifications. 

Who can apply

Postdocs with

  • an outstanding doctorate in a relevant field completed up to 10 years ago
  • at least 2 years of research experience

Type and extent of funding

Work contract with a salary based on the collective agreement for public sector employees. The salary is agreed depending on personal profile and research project. Under certain conditions, a scholarship is also possible.

Duration

Work contracts have a usual duration up to 4 years.

Positions are advertised in scientific journals (and in international publications), on the Max Planck job
exchange or on the website of the respective institute (see links below). It is also possible to take the initiative
and contact the respective MPI directly.
