Thomas Berlage is Professor of Life Science Computer Science at the RWTH Aachen University and heads the "Digital Health" department at the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Information Technology FIT in Sankt Augustin. There, in cooperation with companies from the pharmaceutical, medical technology and health IT sectors, new approaches are being developed to digitally capture health data and make it usable for diagnosis, therapy and research for the benefit of patients and to implement them in the market.
